Îðòîãîíàëüíîñòü ñõåìû êëàññèôèêàöèè çàêëþ÷àåòñÿ â òîì,  ÷òî ëþáîé åå òåðìèí  ïðèíàäëåæèò òî÷íî îäíîé  êàòåãîðèè. Äðóãèìè  ñëîâàìè,  ïðîñëåæèâàåìàÿ îøèáêà â ñèñòåìå äîëæíà íàõîäèòüñÿ â îäíîì èç  êëàññîâ, ýòî äàåò âîçìîæíîñòü  äâóì ðàçðàáîò÷èêàì   êëàññèôèöèðîâàòü   îøèáêè   îäèíàêîâûì ñïîñîáîì.
